The cultural differences between East and West evoke in many Western people a wide spectrum of feelings from fear to curiosity. Chinese often perceive Western culture and traditions with some caution. Some leading experts on China discuss the roots of this phenomenon from theoretic perspective. We also visit antique mountain temples where traditions of Daoism and Confucianism are tightly intersected with Buddhism. We meet an old master of Chinese martial arts Lao Shi, monks, and ordinary people of China. This documentary is the attempt to look at the great ancient culture from an angle that is less traditional than Western approach.
