Libya is a country with fascinating history and culture. It has only recently opened its borders to foreigners. For years Libya was associated with the name of Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi, and evoked feelings of fear and caution. The documentary dispels many myths and misconceptions about this country. We visit ruins of ancient Greek and Roman cities, find traces of mysterious civilization of Garamantes, and explore Sahara desert, which seems endless in the rising sun. We discover hieroglyphs carvings, some of which are more than 8,000 years old, engraved upon the sides of sandstone cliffs. Berbers castles, Labyrinth City – Gadames, the ancient Tripoli with its Medina and Green Square – all of these and more you will find in this documentary.
