This documentary was filmed on the beautiful Mentawai Islands (Indonesia) and is devoted to local tribes who manage to survive in the seemingly impenetrable tropical jungle. A jungle, in which the average 'civilized' person, would survive but a few hours. Members of the expedition of the Unknown Planet not only lived there for several weeks but also made this documentary about a tribe, most likely to vanish in the near future. The route was difficult – we employed elephants to penetrate the virgin jungle forests and tropical bogs, and wooden rafts to travel by unspoiled and unnamed rivers. The film is about real wild tribes on the island of Papua New Guinea. It concentrates on the culture and heritage of Papuans looked upon through the eyes of a white traveler. He lived among the members of the tribe for 5 years, got married to a Papuan woman, participated in the tribal war, and ultimately survived all those amazing adventures.
